WHAT TYPES OF DAMAGES CAN I CLAIM?

There are two main types of damages:

1. Economic damages: all things that cost you money, medical expenses, mileage to and from the doctor, lost wages, etc.

2. Non-economic damages: pain, suffering, inconvenience, etc. Other miscellaneous damages that you can recover include future medical expenses, future income loss. In order to recover for future medical expenses, your healthcare provider must state that it is likely that you will need medical treatment in the future, and that the treatment is indeed a result of the injuries sustained in the wreck. Similarly, you may claim a future loss of income and/or earning capacity.

Additionally, a lessening of earning capacity may also be asserted due to the injuries you received in the wreck if you are unable to earn as much income in the future as you were able to prior to the incident.
